Mickie stormed onto the RAW scene in the fall of 2005, and the Divas division hasn't been the same ever since. The excitable Mickie stormed the ring on RAW, coming to the aid of Trish Stratus who was being attacked by the vicious Victoria.

Mickie revealed that she was actually Trish's biggest fan. She idolized Trish and even watched several of her matches with her grandpappy. Mickie was more than happy to propel herself into the middle of the on going conflict between Trish and her adversaries - Candice, Torrie Wilson and Victoria. In fact, Mickie has made herself a permanent fixture in Trish's business ever since.

The two teamed up at Saturday Night's Main Event, but Trish wasn't so sure she wanted Mickie as a partner. The two have had a tumultuous history together ever since Mickie burst onto RAW, and it had become too much for Trish. Stratus felt Mickie was too overbearing, and her eagerness to please often resulted in a less-than-desired outcome. Trish finally told Mickie that enough was enough, and that they needed some space from each other. Mickie was crushed, but saw Torrie's attack as her opening to get back into the good graces of her idol. Stratus had no choice and reluctantly agreed to team up with Mickie once again.

Stratus dominated their match at Saturday Night's Main Event, and Mickie never even got in the ring. After hitting Victoria with Stratusfaction, Trish picked up the win. Following the pin, Mickie said that she knew Trish wanted her space, so she wanted to properly say goodbye. With that, she attempted to give Trish a big kiss on the lips. But Trish turned her head, and Mickie ended up kissing Trish on the cheek. Unphased, Mickie then gave Trish a big embrace ands tarted jumping up and down. Trish pushed her off, causing Mickie to feel dejected. With that, Mickie leveled Trish with a Mick Kick to the head and then hit her with a dose of Stratusfaction. Afterwards, on WWE.com Unlimited, Mickie explained that Trish broke her heart, and now she was going to break Trish.

Mickie went from being "excitable" to being "psycho" but it was paying dividends. She constantly seemed to have Trish off her game, which was perfect for Mickie heading into WrestleMania 22. While many think that Mickie may have a screw or two loose, she proved that she knows exactly what she's doing inside the ring.

James focused on Trish's knee and worked it over throughout their match at WrestleMania. Trish kept trying to fight back, but she couldn't put much weight on her injured leg. In the end, Mickie was able to catch Trish with the Mick Kick for the 1-2-3 and her first-ever Women's Championship.

While the on again-off again friendship between Mickie and Trish is now "off", the duo proved to be a formidable team when Mickie first debuted. They picked up several wins, but once Mickie won a No. 1 Contender's Match, Mickie earned the right to face her hero for the Women's Championship at New Year's Revolution.

Mickie found it an honor to battle against her idol, but Trish, on the other hand, wasn't as excited. In fact, Stratus was a bit weary of how clingy and seemingly obsessed Mickie was with her. Then, a couple of weeks before their match, Mickie gave Trish a kiss underneath some mistletoe. The Women's Champion was definitely caught off guard, but it didn't stop there. The following week Mickie caught up with Trish to explain what had happened. But Mickie had cornered Trish in the shower, of all places, and then commented on Stratus' breasts.

Trish didn't know what to make of Mickie's recent actions, but was able to narrowly escape with a victory. Mickie still held Trish in high-regard, and even became jealous when Stratus teamed up with Ashley. She was so jealous, that she stormed the ring after Ashley picked up a win in a tag match and attacked the 2005 RAW Diva Search winner.

Ashley warned Trish that Mickie was a psycho, and that she has to be careful with who she associates with. Mickie wanted to make Ashley pay for her medaling, so the two squared off at the Royal Rumble. To make matters even more interesting, Trish was the special guest referee. Before the match Mickie continued to make Trish uneasy when she revealed that she "loved" Trish. Mickie later explained that she "loved" Trish as a friend and nothing more - but the suspicion lived on.

Mickie was able to get the best of Ashley in their match at the Rumble, and Mickie was elated when Trish counted the 1-2-3. She was so happy, in fact, that she help a party for Trish the following night on RAW, inside the ring. As balloons filled the arena, though, Ashley crashed the party. Ashley once again told Trish that Mickie was bad news. She even got the crowd to chant "She's a psycho". Mickie snapped and attacked the 2005 RAW Diva Search Winner.

Trish was the referee once again the following week when Mickie faced Ashley in a Royal Rumble rematch. Ashley was able to pick up the win, but what made Mickie even more upset was the fact that Trish left with her new boyfriend, Jack.

Jack showed up on RAW the following week as well, hoping to surprise Trish with flowers. When he went to the locker room, though, he was greeted by Mickie who was in a blond wig, doing her best Trish Stratus impersonation. Mickie untied her shirt and then started screaming. Jack put his hands on her shoulders and implored her to stop, but she continued screaming. Security rushed to the scene and thought that Jack was attacking Mickie. They escorted Jack away from the premises, and when Trish finally arrived, Mickie convinced her that Jack had indeed assaulted her.

A couple of weeks later Mickie hosted the Kiss Cam on WWE.com Unlimited, but it wasn't without incident. At the end of the segment, she told the crowd about the new Divas Magazine. Trish happened to be on the cover of the magazine, and she proceeded to get herself on the kiss cam, kissing, and even licking, Trish's cover. After seeing this, Trish had been pushed to her limits. She wanted to distance herself from Mickie. James was crushed that her idol didn't want to associate with her, and it proved to be just a matter of time before she finally snapped.
